Zac Brown Band makes big plans for Boston
Rising country stars Zaz Brown Band have revealed plans for a headlining tour this fall. The tour, dubbed the “Breaking Southern Ground” tour, will stop in Boston for an ambitious show at the Agganis Arena on Friday, October 16. Tickets are $28 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.
The Zac Brown Band, who only last summer headlined the much more intimate confines of Harpers Ferry, are touring in support of their 3008 major label debut The Foundation. Earlier this year, the band won the “Top New Group” award at the Academy of Country Music awards. Behind only Lady Gaga, the Zac Brown Band are the biggest selling new artists of the year.
Opening the Boston show will be a trio of fellow up-and-coming Atlanta-based artists who have been signed by Zac Brown to his label Southern Ground Records: Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey and Nic Cow. The band plans to make appearences during each of the opening sets and will then invite each of the artists to join the full band later in the night.
