Win tickets for Blues Traveler, Joan Baez!

Finally, we have some good weather to& go along with this year’s hot summer concert season in New England. This week, the Lowell Summer Music Series boasts three great shows: folk legend Joan Baez on Thursday, 90’s favorites Blues Traveler will play a show co-sponsored by Boston Music Spotlight on Friday, and hometown products Melisa Ferrick and Catie Curtis will team up for a co-headliner on Saturday.

All three shows are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at Boarding House Park in downtown Lowell. If you want to attend one of the shows, simply send us an email for a chance to win a pair of free tickets! Be sure to include what show you would like to attend.

Joan Baez, who is celebrating 51 years of touring since her legendary residency at Boston’s famed Club 47, will hit Boarding House Park on Thursday. She continues to tour in support of her 2008 album, The Day After Tomorrow, which was produced by Steve Earle. Lowell folk performer Bob Martin will open the show.

Led by frontman and harmonica virtuoso John Popper, Blues Traveler will play in Lowell on Friday. The band is tour in support of North Hollywood Shootout, their ninth studio album which was released last summer. New York based pop-rockers Johnny Society will open the show.

Melissa Ferrick and Catie Curtis are two veteran folk-rock artists with strong New England ties. Ferrick, a product of the Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, is supporting her 2008 album Goodbye Youth. Curtis is backing her 2008 album Sweet Life.
