Weezer reveal winter tour plans

Weezer have revealed plans for a brief winter tour to close out the year. Frontman and Harvard alumn Rivers Cuomo will lead the California rockers back to Boston on Monday, December 7 for a show at the Agganis Arena. Tickets are $47.50 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Jack’s Mannequin and Motion City Soundtrack will open the show.

The band will be touring in support of their forthcoming album, Raditude. The album, their seventh studio effort, is scheduled to drop in stores on November 3. “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To”, the first single from Raditude, is streaming on the band’s MySpace. Work for the new album began last year with producer Jacknife Lee and went to include several production credits including Butch Walker and Jermaine Dupri. The album is said to be the band’s most experimental to date with guest appearances from rap star Lil Wayne (on “Can’t Stop Partying”) and even s group of traditional Indian musicians.
For the release of Raditude, Weezer has teamed up with iTunes to offer the Weezer iTunes Pass. For $19.99, fans can pre-order the new album plus exclusive additional tracks, live recordings, remixes, behind-the-scenes video footage and the music video for single “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To.”
In related news, Weezer will release a personalized version of the “Snuggie” on same day of the album release. Also known as the “Wuggie”, it will be same as the infamous blanket with sleeves except with the a new design and the Weezer logo.
