Tim McGraw plots summer tour

The summer concert season continues to heat up with the announcement of Tim McGraw’s summer outing. The country superstar will return to Massachusetts for a show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Sunday, July 24. Joining him on the “Emotional Traffic” tour will be rising country stars Luke Bryan and The Band Perry. Tickets, which range in price from $23.25 to $76, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

McGraw, who was named by Billboard as country music’s #1 touring act of 2010, continues to tour in support of his latest release, 2009’s Southern Voice. The album, his tenth studio effort, has been powered by hit singles “It’s a Business Doing Pleasure with You”, “Southern Voice” and “Still”. Last November, McGraw released his fourth greatest hits compilation, Number One Hits. The album featured one brand new bonus track, “Felt Good On My Lips”. McGraw also co-starred with Gwyneth Paltrow, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester in the 2010 film “Country Strong”, which was recently released on DVD.

Bryan continues to tour in support of his most recent release, 2009’s Doin’ My Thing. He took home two ACM Awards in 2010 for Top New Solo Vocalist and Top New Artist.

The Band Perry, comprised of siblings Reid, Neil and Kimberly Perry, are on the road to promote their self-titled debut album. Powered by hit singles “Hip To My Heart” and “If I Die Young”, which earned a Grammy-Award nomination for Best Country Song. The group recently won a pair of ACM Awards for Top New Vocal Duo or Group and Top New Artist. They were also nominated for Top Vocal Group, as well as Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “If I Die Young”.

The tour will also stop at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, July 23. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $75.50 and $95.50.
