Indie rock heroes The Pixies will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album Doolittle with a special tour this fall. The Massachusetts-bred band will rock a pair of hometown shows at the Citi Wang Theatre on Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28. Tickets for both shows are $48 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Telecharge.

Released in April of 1989, Doolittle is the second full-length album by The Pixies. Powered by songs such as “Here Comes Your Man,” “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” “Debaser” and “Wave of Mutilation,” the album is widely considered by many as their best. The band parted ways in 1993 but reunited in 2004 for a reunion tour. Since then, the band has played a handful of shows and festival appearances.

This tour, which will hit only nine cities, will feature the original line-up of Black Francis (Frank Black), Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering playing Doolittle in its entirety as as well its related B-sides.

“We wanted to do something special for Doolittle’s 20th anniversary,” said Black Francis in a press release, “and we thought his was a good opportunity to play all of the songs from that album, something we don’t normally do at a regular gig.”
