The Gracious Few, a new band comprised of members of the band’s Live and Candelbox, will make their Boston debut at the Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday, September 28. Tickets for the 18+ show, which also features openers American Bang, are now on sale through Live Nation for $20.

Produced by Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), The Gracious Few’s self-titled debut album is scheduled for a September 14 release. A trio of new tunes – “Honest Man”, “Tredecim” and “Crying Time” – are now streaming on the band’s MySpace. The Gracious Few is comprised of former Live members guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer and drummer Chad Gracey alongside Candlebox members vocalist Kevin Martin and guitarist Sean Hennesey. The band formed after Live split ways in 2009 as singer Ed Kowalczyk left the band to pursue a solo career.

“We knew what type of album would get us excited,” explained Taylor in a press release. “We were pissed off and sick and tired of the status quo. We wanted a return to music that wasn’t careful to please the masses. We had that with our previous bands.”

“There’s a real stamina to the album’s pace. It’s got rough edges that will cut you if you brush against them,” said Taylor. “It’s rock n roll, and we’re grateful to have the chance to showcase what we do best,” added Martin.
