The Black Crowes ready new album, tour

The Black Crowes have announced plans for their forthcoming album and corresponding “Stuck Inside Utopia” tour, which includes multiple stops in New England. The band’s Boston show, set for the Bank of America Pavilion on Thursday, August 27, will feature special guest Levon Helm. Tickets for show are $30 and $45 and go on sale Friday at noon though Live Nation.

Beginning the tour on August 25 in Virginia, the group will tour through the end of the year in support of their forthcoming double album Before the Frost, Until The Freeze, which is set to hit stores on September 1. The first album of the project will be sold while the second album will be given away for free exclusively through a unique download code included in the purchased album.

The album was recorded in front of an intimate audience of the band’s fans over a series of five nights at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York. “I think we fulfilled a musical commitment to continue on the golden road of artistic independence,” said lead singer Chris Robinson in a press release. “Approaching 20 years into our careers, we still are ambitious enough to push ourselves to create something unique that we have never done before.”
In concert, The Black Crowes are promising sets that will feature over two hours of music from the upcoming release as well as the band’s expansive catalogue.& Of course, the band notoriously changes their setlist will each night, which bodes especially well for their New England fans this summer. In addition to the Boston show, The Black Crowes will also perform at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on August 26. Tickets are now on sale for $46.75 and $62.75 though Ticketmaster.&

The band will return to the area on September 16 for a show at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. Tickets for that show are $40 and $50 and go on sale Friday at noon through
