The Airborne Toxic Event has announced a series of special acoustic performances across the East Coast this fall, including a stop at the Somerville Theater in Massachusetts on Wednesday, September 8. The band will be accompanied by the Calder Quartet. Tickets are $25 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

The band’s tour will purposely take them to an array of nontraditional venues including a church and a synagogue. For Boston, the band selected the Somerville Theater, which was built in 1914 was originally designed for stage shows, vaudeville and opera.

In addition to their new tour and album, The Airborne Toxic Event will release a new documentary film chronicling their sold out performance at the internationally renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall on September 7. All I Ever Wanted: Live From the Walt Disney Concert Hall offers an intimate behind the scenes look at the rehearsals and preparation that went into putting on the show, which featured an eclectic mix of musicians and performers, ranging from a children’s choir, a world class string quartet, a high school marching band, visual artists, horn players and Mexican Folkorico dancers.

The band is currently in the studio recording their follow up to their breakthrough self titled debut with producer Dave Stardy. The album is slated for an early 2011 release.
