Taking Back Sunday to rock City Hall Plaza

Emo rockers Taking Back Sunday will play a free concert at Boston’s City Hall Plaza later this summer with Crooked X. The show, which is scheduled for Friday, July 24, is party to celebrate the second stop of the 2009 action sports "Dew Tour". Boston will host the “Skate Open” event, which serves as the host for the International Skateboarding Federation World Championships, at the TD Banknorth Garden on July 24 and 25.

“We’re pumped to show Boston some more love with a free concert at City Hall Plaza,” said Taking Back Sunday’s Adam Lazzara in a press release. “Doing a free show is always fun for our fans, and being part of an event that has the best skaters in the world is a nice bonus.”&

The Long Island rockers are currently touring in support of their latest release, New Again. The album, the band’s fourth studio effort, debuted at debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 after its release on June 1.

Currently on tour with Anberlin, the band will hit New England next week for shows at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Friday, June 19 and the House of Blues on Saturday, June 20. Tickets for both shows are on sale through Ticketmaster, as are tickets for the Skate Open event at the TD Banknorth Garden.
