Christian rock group Stryper will hit Boston’s House of Blues on Friday, September 11& for a special show as part of their 50-city 25th Anniversary tour. Tickets for the all ages show, which are priced at $25 and $30, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. though Ticketmaster.

Led by lead singer Michael Sweet, who now resides in Massachusetts, Stryper will be touring in support of their forthcoming studio album, Murder by Pride, which is due for release in July. The first set of the show will feature the band’s new material performed by current bassist Tracy Ferrie, along with original members Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet and Oz Fox. Original bassist Tim Gaines will then join the band in the second half for a set of the band’s greatest hits, complete with their classic yellow and black stage outfits.

Of course, Michael Sweet spent last summer on tour with classic rockers Boston, replacing the late Brad Delp on lead vocals. At Stryper’s House of Blues show in September, Boston members Tom Scholz and Gary Phil will return the favor and make a special appearance.

Flight Patterns, Michael Sweet Jr’s band, will be the opening band on the tour.
