Pearl Jam have revealed pans for a partnership with Verizon Wireless that will give fans the opportunity to download exclusive bootleg tracks from their ongoing tour. The free Pearl Jam Mobile Bootleg Application will give fans access to live music from their entire 2009 tour. From now until Pearl Jam’s November 29 show in Christchurch, New Zealand, fans will be able to download three live, exclusive bootleg tracks per show, wallpapers and more.

The new Pearl Jam Mobile Application is available first to Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Tour customers and will roll out as part of V CAST Apps, Verizon Wireless’ planned mobile application storefront scheduled to launch later this year. To get the application, fans can text “PJ” to “5509” and then click on the link from their BlackBerry Tour’s browser.

“Pearl Jam is always looking for new and innovative ways to connect their fans with their most valuable asset — the live performance,” said fan club manager Tim Bierman in a press release. “Having the ability to make high-quality live performances available through Verizon’s app on the Blackberry Tour gives us yet another way to make this connection, and allows us to expand our mobile bootleg program into new territory.”

The band is on the road touring in support of their self-released ninth studio album, Backspacer. Though no Boston dates were included in the handful of live shows the band is playing this year in the United States, they will make their way to Philadelphia this week for four shows at the Wachovia Spectrum. Boston Music Spotlight will be making the trip south for the band’s Halloween show on Saturday and will have a full report next week.
