WKLB hosts St. Jude Kids Radiothon with rising stars

WKLB Country 102.5 kicks off a 2-day radiothoon to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital today. The station will broadcast their Annual Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon from the Jordan’s Furniture in Reading on Thursday and Friday. Joining them on site to deliver live performances will be a linuep of rising country music stars including Steel Magnolia, The Band Perry, Easton Corbin and Danny Gokey.

Fans are encouraged to stop in to Jordan’s to watch the performances and become a Partner In Hope by making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on site. Donataions can also be made online and by calling 1-800-963-HOPE (4673). WKLB will be broadcasting live on Thursday till 7 p.m. and on Friday until 9 p.m. The station is also hosting an inline auction to benefit St. Judes with rare memorbilia including autographed items from Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Leann Rimes and more.

The Band Perry, a rising group from Nashville featuring 2 brothers and a sister, will kick off the live performances on Thursday. They’ll perform from 2:30 to 4:30 and fans can expect to hear their first and current single, “Hip To My Heart”. Steel Magnolia, who recently were nominated for ACM Top New Vocal Duo, will follow with a performance scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30. The duo have been turning heads and climbing the charts thanks to the success their smash single “Keep On Lovin’ You.”

Easton Corbin, who just released his debut album, will kick off Friday’s live performances at 11 a.m. Fans can certainly expect to hear his top ten hit, “A Little More Country Than That”. Danny Gokey, a finalists on last season’s American Idol, will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 on Friday. He’s been winning over lots of new fans with his first single “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me”. The St. Jude Fitness Performance Team will also be on hand for a performance at 6 p.m.
