Pavement to bring reunion tour to Boston

Indie rock fans rejoice: Pavement is coming to Boston. Last year, the band announced that they will finally reunite for a tour in 2010. We now know that the world wide tour will make a stop in Boston for a show at the Agganis Arena on Saturday, September 18. Tickets for the show are all priced at $36.50 and will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

After years of speculation, Pavement returned to the stage with the lineup of Mark Ibold, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West for their first show in over a decade in New Zealand last week. One of the most influential bands of the indie rock movement of the early 90s, the group rocked a dream setlist comprised of material from all five of the band’s albums.

Earlier this week, Pavement released a new 23-track compilation album, Quarantine the Past: The Best of Pavement.
