Macy Gray to play MassEquality’s Concert for Equality

Soul singer Macy Gray will play the MassEquality’s Concert for Equality later this fall. Scheduled for Thursday, September 30, the show will be held at Wilbur Theatre. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster for $92 and $117.

MassEquality is putting on the event to “celebrate equality with a Grammy Award winning artist”. The organization works to protect, promote and defend marriage equality and to promote the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.

Gray, who has been nominated for 5 Grammys, winning one, has become known for unique style and voice, best known for her single “I Try”. Earlier this year, she released her fifth studio album, The Sellout. The album features singles “Beauty in the World” and “Kissed It”, the latter features rockers Velvet Revolver. She also collaborates with New Edition’s Bobby Brown on “Real Love”. Gray was seen also a contestant last fall on the hit reality show Dancing with the Stars.
