Lady Gaga wins big at Brit Awards

Lady Gaga was the big winner at the Brit Awards, held Tuesday in London. The American pop star lead the pack, winning three awards: International Female Solo Artist, International Female Solo Artist, and International Album for The Fame. Jay-Z was won the Brit award for International Male Artist.

As for the actual Brits, JLS was the big winner. The boyband, who were runners-up in the 2008 season of The X Factor, won the British Breakthrough Act and British Single for “Beat Again”. Kasabian won the the group category, while Lily Allen won for female artist and Dizzee Rascal won for male artist. Florence & the Machine won British Album for Lungs. Paul Epworth won British Producer and the Critics’ Choice went to Ellie Goulding. Robbie Williams was given the Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary, the Brit Awards handed out two extra awards: Performance of Last 30 Years went to the Spice Girls 1997 performance of  “Wannabe”/”Who Do You Think You Are” while Album of the Last 30 Years went to Oasis for (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?.
