Due to overwhelming demand, Lady Gaga has added a second show at Boston’s TD Garden as part of her “Monster Ball” tour. With her July 1 show completely sold out, the pop superstar will play the TD Garden again on Friday, July 2. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $49.50 to $175, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Last fall, Gaga hit mostly theaters for the first leg of her “Monster Ball” tour. Now for the tour’s second leg, she “promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced” according to a press release.

“It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.”

Gaga is touring in support of The Fame Monster, which was released last November. The album is the follow-up to 2008’s Grammy Award-winning album The Fame, which spawned the #1 singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.”

In related news, Gaga is countersuing her former producer and ex-boyfriend after he filed a $30.5 million lawsuit last week for a breach of contract and unpaid royalties. Gaga is claiming the contract was illegal.
