CMT has revealed plans for the next installment of their successful Crossroads series, with Kenny Chesney set to return to the show for a night with the Steve Miller Band. The two will tape the special performance before an invitation only audience in Nashville next month and will premiere later this year on CMT.

Longtime friends, Miller and Chesney have shared the stage in front of thousands during summer concerts, performing classic Miller hits. Now, the two will perform each other’s songs and swap stories for another episode of CMT Crossroads, the popular series that pairs country music favorites with stars from the rock and pop world. Chesney previously appeared on Crossroads in 2003 with John Mellencamp.

Meanwhile, the next new episode of Crossroads with Jimmy Buffett and the Zac Brown Band is scheduled to premier next month.

Chesney, who will not mount a major summer tour this year but will make a handful of festival appearances, is also gearing of for the release of his 3-D concert film. “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D,” which include footage from his sold out show at Gillette Stadium last summer, is scheduled to hit 3-D movie theatres nationwide on April 21.
