Pop star Justin Timberlake can add another award to his trophy case of Grammys and Emmys thanks to the students at Harvard. The singer has been named the 2010 Man of the Year by Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest undergraduate drama club. Timberlake will come to town to receive the award and participate in its annual ceremony and roast on Friday, February 5.

The pop singer, songwriter, actor, and producer was named by the group as “an accomplished artist who is now widely considered one of pop culture’s most influential entertainers.”

Timberlake plays Napster creator Sean Parker in the upcoming David Fincher-directed and Aaron Sorkin-penned film “The Social Network”, which is based on founding of Facebook and was mostly filmed in Boston and Cambridge. More recently, Timberlake performed a moving cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah’’ with Matt Morris as part of last Friday’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon.

He joins Anne Hathaway, who was recently named the group’s Woman of the Year. Hasty Pudding Theatricals has been giving out acting awards since 1951. Last year’s honorees were Renée Zellweger and James Franco.
