Garth Brooks has announced the next set of shows for his residency at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. The country music legend, who came out of retirement in December, will continue to play shows on select weekends this spring and summer.
Brooks is scheduled to play shows on the following weekends: March 26-28, April 9-11, June 25-27, July 16-18 and August 6-8. Each weekend will consist of one show on Friday, two on Saturday and on Sunday. Tickets for all of the shows, which are priced at $125 plus service charge and tax ($143 total), will go on sale Saturday at 11 a.m. through the Wynn Las Vegas website and by phone at 702-770-1000.
Brooks performs the shows as a solo-acoustic act with no backing band, though special guests (including his wife Trisha Yearwood) may appear at any of the concerts. The 47-year old and #1 selling solo artist in U.S. history takes the audience through the story of his life with music from his own catalogue as well as many of his influences for a show that runs at least 90-minutes.
He and his fans both seem to be enjoying Brooks’ new gig based on a press release that recalls one recent and very memorable show. After playing for two hours, Brooks brought his show to a close and went went backstage to get dinner. However, the fans remained in the theatre and would not leave. After hearing but no believing the news, Brooks walked back to the stage and was shocked to find the whole crowd still in the room. With that, he grabbed his guitar and played another 45 minutes. Afterwards, Brooks was quoted as saying: “I’ve never seen anything like it in my career.”
