Guitar legend Eric Clapton has announced plans for his third Crossroads Guitar Festival. Scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 26 at Toyota Park in Chicago, Illinois, the day-long festival will feature an array of awesome collaborations thanks to an impressive lineup that pulls guitar greats from all-ages.
Among the highlights of artists joining Clapton in the Windy City this summer will be the Allman Brothers Band, ZZ Top, Steve Winwood, BB King, Jeff Beck, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Buddy Guy, John Mayer and Robert Randolph. Others set to jam with Clapton and friends in Chicago include Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Keb Mo, Robert Cray and Sonny Landreth.
“The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage,” said Clapton in a press release. “The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect.”
Tickets, which are all priced at $100, for the Crossroads Guitar Festival will go on sale to the public on Saturday at 11 a.m. through Ticketmaster. All profits from the Festival will benefit The Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a treatment and education facility founded by Clapton for chemically dependent persons.
The first Crossroads Guitar Festival took place in June of 2004 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. Clapton stage the second festival in July of 2007 at Toyota Park in Chicago.
