The Dave Matthews Band has revealed plans for their 2010 summer tour. The perennial summertime favorite will launch an extensive North American summer tour with a two-night stand at The Comcast Theatre in Hartford on May 28 and 29, before hitting the Comcast Center in Mansfield for shows on Monday, June 7 and Tuesday, June 8. Tickets for the Massachusetts show will range in price from $40 to $75 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. The Yonder Mountain String Band have been tapped to open the show.

The band is touring in support of their most recent release, 2009’s Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. The platinum-certified selling album was nominated for two Grammy Awards this year – Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album. In December, the Dave Matthews Band released Europe 2009, a box set commemorating their tour overseas. The three-CD set, Live from Lucca, is a recording of the group’s July 5, 2009 show in Lucca, Italy. The DVD, Across the Pond, was filmed at the band’s performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, England on June 26, 2009.

Last summer, the band rocked Boston’s historic Fenway Park and this year, they have plans to rock a few more baseball parks. The band is confirmed to play Citi Field (home of the New York Mets) and PNC Park (home of the Pittsburgh Pirates) in July with the Zac Brown Band and is also expected to play Wrigley Field (home of the Chicago Cubs) in September. Other highlights on DMB’s summer schedule include headlining performances at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee and the Churchill Downs Music Festival in Lexington, Kentucky.

Earlier this month, Matthews and longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds released Live in Las Vegas. The two-disc collection, which was recorded at the Theater for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 12, 2009, includes the first-ever live acoustic interpretations of tracks from Big Whiskey plus selected songs from previous Dave Matthews Band albums and material from each artist’s solo career.
