Coheed and Cambria have announced plans for their first headlining tour of North America since 2007. The tour will bring them to Boston’s House of Blues on Monday, May 17 for a show with Circa Survive and Torche. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $26 to $36, are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

The veteran rockers from New York will be touring in support of their forthcoming album, Year of the Black Rainbow, which is scheduled to drop in stores on April 13. The album, the band’s fifth studio effort, serves as a prequel and likely last installment of The Amory Wars storyline (the collection of the band’s previous four concept albums). The album is produced by Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction) and Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool). The band recently made available a first taste of Year of the Black Rainbow by streaming the new song “The Broken” on their official website (its also available for purchase on iTunes).

Year of the Black Rainbow will be released in multiple formats include a special deluxe edition of the record,  which will include a 352-page “Year of the Black Rainbow” novel, penned by the band’s Claudio Sanchez and New York Times bestselling author Peter David, as well as a “Making of” DVD featuring studio and interview footage and a Coheed and Cambria “Black Card,” providing fans early entrance to shows, discounts on band merchandise, exclusive downloads and other offers.
