Carrie Underwood to sing National Anthem at Super Bowl

Country superstar Carrie Underwood will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday in Miami. She’ll join an entertainment lineup that includes Queen Latifah performing “America the Beautiful” the big game and The who performing at half time of the NFL championship between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. The game and all the festivities will air live on CBS.

Meanwhile, Underwood is preparing for an expansive tour in support of her new album, Play On. The former American Idol champion will kick off the tour in Providence on Saturday, March 13 at the Dunkin Donuts Center. She’ll make her way to Worcester’s DCU Center on Sunday, March 21 with other New England stops scheduled for the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine on Monday, March 15, the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Tuesday, March 16 and the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Saturday, March 20. Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia will open all shows on the tour.
