BMS predicts the Grammy Award winners
The Nominees: I Am…Sasha Fierce – Beyoncé, The E.N.D. - the Black Eyed Peas, The Fame - Lady Gaga, Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King – Dave Matthews Band, Fearless - Taylor Swift
Who will win: Fearless - Taylor Swift
Why: She’s America’s princess has enjoyed a remarkable year that will climax with the top prize at the biggest night in music. Fearless, which has gone a staggering 5x Platinum, is full of great tunes and the Grammy will be well deserved (sorry Kanye).
The Nominees: “Halo” – Beyoncé, “I Gotta Feeling” – the Black Eyed Peas, “Use Somebody” – Kings Of Leon, “Poker Face” – Lady Gaga, “You Belong With Me” – Taylor Swift
Who will win: “Poker Face” – Lady Gaga
Who should win: “Halo” – Beyoncé
Why: As eccentric as she is, we just can’t see Gaga not taking home an award. That said, we find “Halo” to be the superior single.
Song of the Year
The Nominees: “Poker Face” – Lady Gaga, “Pretty Wings” – Maxwell, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” – Beyoncé, “Use Somebody” – Kings Of Leon, “You Belong With Me” – Taylor Swift
Who will win: “You Belong With Me” – Taylor Swift
Why: Beyoncé is very deserving and we see Kings of Leon as a strong darkhorse, but in the end its Taylor’s night.
Best New Artist
The Nominees: Zac Brown Band,Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, The Ting Tings
Who will win: Zac Brown Band
Who should win: MGMT:
Why: The duo from Brooklyn are the most intriguing group in this pack but the country/southern rock favorites from Georgia have sold more albums and packed bigger venues.
The Nominees: The E.N.D. – The Black Eyed Peas, Breakthrough - Colbie Caillat, All I Ever Wanted – Kelly Clarkson, The Fray – The Fray, Funhouse - Pink
Who will win: The E.N.D. – The Black Eyed Peas

The Nominees: Black Ice - AC/DC, Live From Madison Square Garden – Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, 21st Century Breakdown – Green Day, Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King – Dave Matthews Band, No Line On The Horizon – U2
Who will win: Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King -Dave Matthews Band
Who should win: No Line On The Horizon – U2
Why: U2 delivered arguably their best album in a decade but since DMB (who did make a triumphant return) was named a nominee for overall Album of the Year, we assume that means they’ll win here. But who knows? For some stupid reason, they did nominate a live album too.
Best Alternative Album

Who will win: Sounds Of The Universe - Depeche Mode
Who should win: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix – Phoenix
Why: The Academy loves to honor the veteran acts but if they want to be true to the best music of the year, Phoenix are the clearly most deserving thanks to the awesomeness that is Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
Best Country Album
The Nominees: The Foundation – Zac Brown Band, Twang - George Strait, Fearless - Taylor Swift, Defying Gravity – Keith Urban, Call Me Crazy – Lee Ann Womack
Who will win: Fearless - Taylor Swift

Best Rap Album
The Nominees: Universal Mind Control – Common, Relapse - Eminem, R.O.O.T.S. - Flo Rida, The Ecstatic – Mos Def, The Renaissance – Q-Tip
Who will win: Relapse - Eminem
Who should win: Universal Mind Control – Common
Why: We’re still baffled on how Flo Rida managed to get a nomination. With the rest of the field on somewhat common ground, we see the award going to Eminem for the album that though not his best, did finally end his hiatus.
The Nominees: The Point Of It All – Anthony Hamilton, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love and Politics - India.Arie, Turn Me Loose – Ledisi, Blacksummers’ Night – Maxwell, Uncle Charlie – Charlie Wilson
Who will win: Blacksummers’ Night – Maxwell
