Billy Joel and Elton John to play Fenway Park?

, Staff

According to a report from the Boston Herald, Billy Joel and Elton John will indeed rock Fenway Park this summer. The duo’s “Face 2 Face” tour has long been rumored to stop at the historic ballpark in Boston. Last year, they bypassed the home of the Red Sox to perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, a show that was later ranked #6 on Boston Music Spotlight’s Top 29 Concerts of 2009. Neither the Red Sox or concert promoters Live Nation have confirmed or denied the report but if true, Joel and John will reportedly play Fenway Park  on July 21 with a second show possible for July 24.

Last year, Fenway was very busy with concerts from the Dave Matthews Band, Phish and Paul McCartney. Neil Diamond, The Police, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Buffett, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have also performed at the park in recent years.
