Ben Folds has announced plans for a return visit to Boston. The singer-songwriter, who performed with the Boston Pops orchestra at Symphony Hall last fall, will make his way back to the hub for a show at the House of Blues on Tuesday, April 6. Tickets for the show, which are priced at $35 and $45, go on sale today at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.
The show, dubbed “Ben Folds and A Piano”, will feature the singer in an intimate solo performance. Fans can expect to hear all the classics along with newer tunes off his most recent release, 2008’s Way to Normal. The album, his third solo studio effort, was his highest-charting debut ever in the United States, reaching #11 on the Billboard 200.
Last spring, Folds released Ben Folds Presents University A Cappella, a compilation of his songs performed by a variety of a cappella groups across the country, including The Newtones from Newton South High School. He most recently served as a judge on NBC’s a capella competition show, “The Sing Off”.
