As we dry out from the never ending rain storm, today’s sunshine reminds us that summertime is just around the corner and with it concert season too. For fans of late 70’s/early 80’s rock, the Bank of America Pavilion will offer plenty of nostalgia shows this summer. REO Speedwagon, Pat Benetar, Styx, Foreigner, Kansas, Chicago, the Doobie Brothers, Jethro Till and Earth, Wind & Fire will all make their way to the Boston this summer for shows at the harbor side venue.

REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar will bring their “Love on The Run Tour” to the Bank of America Pavilion on Sunday, August 29. Tickets which range in price from $28.50 to $60, are now on sale through Live Nation. A special 4-pack of tickets are available for $28.75 each.

Styx and Foreigner will take to the road together this summer for a co-headlining jaunt with special guests Kansas. Together, they’ll play the Pavilion on Sunday, June 20. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25 to $45, are now on sale through Live Nation. Last fall, Foreiger released their first album of all new material in 15 years, Can’t Slow Down. The new album also marks their first with lead singer Kelly Hansen.

Chicago and The Doobie Brothers, who previously toured together 2 years ago, will hit the Pavilion on Tuesday, July 6. Like their tour in 2008, fans can expect both bands to play individual sets before teaming up for a set together to close out the show. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $42.50 to $79, are now on sale though Live Nation. Fans can also purchase a 4-pack of tickets for $48.75 each. Chicago’s most recent release was 2008’s Chicago XXXII: Stone of Sisyphus. Produced by Peter Wold of the J. Geils Band, the album was finally released after a 15-year delay as Warner Bros. Records refused to release it in 1994. The Doobie Brothers are reportedly working on their first studio album in a decade and followup to 2000’s Sibling Rivalry.

Not all 70’s and 80’s acts are teaming up for co-headliners as both Earth, Wind & Fire and Jethro Tull will come to Boston on their own.

Earth Wind & Fire hits the Pavilion on Thursday, June 10. Tickets are now on sale through Live Nation and range in price from $36 to $66. Fans can also purchase a special 4-pack of tickets for $38.50 each. Earth, Wind & Fire, who will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June, are reportedly planning to release an album of new material along with a live CD/DVD later this year. Most recently, band members Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson participated in the recording of the “We Are the World 25 for Haiti” single.

Jethro Tull comes to town on Tuesday, June 15. Tickets are now on sale and range in price from $30 to $60 through Live Nation. Special 4-packs are available for $33.75 each.
