Air plan US tour

Air, the electro pop duo from Versailles, France will make their way stateside for a tour of North America this spring. They will stop in Boston on Saturday, March 20 for a show at the Berklee Performance Center. Tickets are now on sale for $35 though Ticketmaster.

The North American tour will mark Air’s first in three years. The duo comprised of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel will be touring in support of their sixth studio album Love 2, which was released last fall. On the tour, Air plan to perform re-interpretations of new songs from Love 2, as well as old favorites from throughout their extensive catalog. For the first time on these dates, the band will be performing their live show as an intimate three-piece with Godin and Dunckel taking on full instrumental and vocal duties. This follows a successful short tour of China and the Far East in late 2008, where they experimented with a core of three musicians and the current live set took shape. For the North American dates, AIR will be joined by British drummer/percussionist Alex Thomas (Bat For Lashes, Badly Drawn Boy).
