ZZ Top and Jeff Beck will join forces this summer for a co-headlining tour. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will bring their aptly titled “Beards ‘N Beck” tour to Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on Tuesday, September 2. Tickets for the concert, which range in price from $39.50 to $75, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

At the show, fans can expect Beck to first perform a full set, followed by ZZ Top. The English fret master and the Texas rockers will then team up for a collaboration to close out the night.

ZZ Top‟s Billy Gibbons, speaking on behalf of bandmates Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, noted in a press release that Beck has long been a source of musical inspiration from the time when Beck played in the Yardbirds. “Ever since experiencing Jeff’s Boogie, the prospect of performance with Jeff Beck on the deck brings us into focus with the curator of crunch.”

Likewise, Beck has also been a longtime fan of ZZ Top. “Ever since Eliminator I thought it would be great to play with ZZ Top,” he said in a press release before declaring Gibbons, “The Professor of Grunge”.

The upcoming late summer trek will mark the first tour between the classic rockers and longtime mutual admirers. However, it does not mark their first live collaboration. Gibbons joined Jeff Beck and his band on stage at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where they performed The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Foxy Lady” and ZZ Top’s hit “Rough Boy” together. The following year Jeff Beck joined ZZ Top in Lucca, Italy for an extended rendition of the band’s signature piece “La Grange”.

ZZ Top’s last offering of all new material was 2012’s La Futura. Produced by Rick Rubin (Metallica, Beastie Boys), the band’s fifteenth studio effort marked their first in nine years.

Beck, a native of London and two-time Rock And Roll Hall of Famer (with The Yardbirds in 1992, and on his own in 2009), has reportedly been working on a new studio album. No release date for the new material has been set. It will mark his first since the 2010’s Emotion & Commotion, which earned two Grammy Awards and his career’s highest charting debut.
