Zedd cancels second Boston show after night one ends in tragedy
Zedd has cancelled his scheduled show at Boston’s House of Blues tonight after his sold-out show at the same venue last night in tragedy. According to reports by the Boston Globe, one woman died from an apparent drug overdose, while two other fans (a male and female) were also taken to a hospital in serious condition.
“In light of last night’s tragic events and an active police investigation, tonight’s performance by Zedd has been canceled,” said the show’s promoters Live Nation in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the families and friends suffering now. The safety of patrons and fans is top priority and all involved continue to work closely in conjunction with local officials on this active investigation.”
Through his Twitter feed, Zedd stated, “Out of respect to the families and friends involved in last night’s tragic loss, the show in Boston tonight is canceled. Love and respect to those in pain right now. Our hearts go out to you.”
Police are asking anyone with details to call the detectives at 617-343-4470. They are also taking anonymous tips at 800-494-TIPS or via text of the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
Last night’s performance from Zedd marked the German DJ and fast-rising EDM star’s North American tour kick off.
