Rock supergroup Yukon Kornelius usually gather just once each winter. The band has confirmed that this year they will be returning to New England for a performance in Vermont. The band will join forces with O.A.R. at the third annual FestEVOL at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow on Saturday, March 16.

The show will mark Yukon Kornelius, comprised of Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner, Barenaked Ladies guitarist/vocalist Ed Robertson, Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard and Spymob drummer Eric Fawcett, first East Coast show in five years. The band’s headlining set will feature an array of special guests including Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Marc Roberge and Jerry DePizzo of O.A.R., Brett Scallions of Fuel and Brad Corrigan of Dispatch. Additional guests are expected to be added later.

Yukon Kornelius formed in 2008 while the musicians were filming for the Warren Miller sports movie “Children of Winter”. Their love for snow sports, charitable missions and music sealed the band’s creation as they delivered their first show at the Pickle Barrel Nightclub in Killington, Vermont. A handful of subsequent performances have since taken place in Colorado. For more on the band, check out the video below.

O.A.R. released a new live album and DVD, Live on Red Rocks, in November. Filmed and recorded live at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 15, 2012, Live on Red Rocks captures 22 songs spanning the band’s career. Also included in the DVD is a short documentary called “Standing on a Burning Hot Sun”. O.A.R.’s most recent studio effort was 2011’s King.

FestEVOL will combine snowsports with live music, innovative natural brands and the sustainably focused Reverb Eco-Village. The interactive village includes local, regional and national environmental non-profit groups alongside alternative energy and transportation exhibits. The Eco Village also highlights all natural and organic food sampling and ski and snowboard equipment demos.

Tickets for FestEVOL at Okemo with Yukon Kornelius and O.A.R. are on sale through Okemo’s website for $40 or $99 with an all-day lift pass. The concert will take place at 4 p.m. at the Ice House Arena, located at Jackson Gore.

A second edition of the FestEVOL featuring O.A.R., John Popper of Blues Traveler and Maine’s Pete Kilpatrick Band at will take place at Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, New Hampshire on Saturday, March 23.
