Today is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and what better way to celebrate then with some great music. WXRV 92.5 “The River”, Boston’s independent and solar-powered radio station, is hosting a free lunch time concert with They Might Be Giants and Citizen Cope. The concert will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, and will also include arts and crafts and other activities.

They Might Be Giants, led by the Massachusetts-bred duo of singer-songwriters John Flansburgh and John Linnell, are busing working on a new album for their adult fans (their first since 2007’s The Else) after releasing their fourth children’s album, Here Comes Science, last fall.

Citizen Cope is the name given to singer/songwriter Clarence Greenwood and his acoustic-driven band. He has spent much of his year on the road, including three sold out shows at the Paradise Rock Club earlier this year, supporting his brand new album, The Rainwater LP.
