Wilco have extended their upcoming tour into the spring with a new batch of shows set to take place across New England. The band will hit Boston’s Oprheum Theatre on Tuesday, April 6. Tickets for the show are $36 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. The Massachusetts stop will be preceded by a show at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, April 4 and followed by stops at the Capital Center on Concord, New Hampshire on Wednesday , April 7 and the Bushnell Memorial Hall in Hartford, Connecticut on Friday, April 9.

The concerts are being presented as “An Evening with Wilco” and will feature extended, varied sets exploring material from each of the accomplished Chicago sextet’s seven studio albums.

Wilco are touring in support of their seventh album, Wilco (The Album), which hit stores last summer. The new album, which follows 2007’s Sky Blue Sky, was produced by Jim Scott and the band. It also contains the first duet to be featured on a Wilco album, “You and I”, which was recorded with Canadian singer Feist. Wilco also released a new concert DVD, “Ashes of American Flags”, last April.

The band played Lowell’s LeLacheur Park, home of the minor league Lowell Spinners baseball team, this past summer. Read our review of the show here.
