Weezer to play free show for Microsoft Store opening

Weezer will hit Massachusetts next week for a special performance celebrating the opening of the new the Microsoft retail store at the Natick Mall. The store will host its grand opening at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 with the concert taking place at nearby location (not yet confirmed) later that evening.

Fans can only gain access to the free show by attending the grand opening of the Microsoft Store at the Natick Mall. The first 200 people in line for the opening will receive two free premier viewing tickets for the Weezer performance. One ticket will grant the recipient admission to both the performance and a special meet and greet session with the band after the show. The second ticket will grant another person admission to the concert only. Additionally, a limited number of people will receive two premier viewing tickets to the Weezer performance. Weezer are rumored to be working on new material. Their last studio release was 2010’s Hurley. The album, the band’s eighth studio album, features singles “Memories” and “Hang On”. Also in 2010, Weezer released a collection of unreleased songs called Death to False Metal. The album is comprised of previously unreleased songs recorded during various sessions from the early 1990’s to present day.
