After rocking a pair of memorable shows at the intimate Orpheum Theatre, Weezer have revealed plans to return the Hub this spring. The band will play Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion on Thursday, May 19. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $45 and $50.

Weezer continues to tour in support of their latest release Hurley, which entered the Billboard 200 at #6 and marked the band’s sixth consecutive top ten album release when it hit stores in the fall of 2010. The album, their eight studio effort, has been powered by the hit single “Memories”. Last November, Weezer released a collection of unreleased songs called Death to False Metal. The album is comprised of previously unreleased songs recorded during various sessions from the early ‘90s to present day.

The Pavilion show will mark the Weezer’s return to Boston since bringing “The Memories Tour” to the Orpheum Theatre in December of last year. In the sold out two day residency, the band performed their 1997 self-titled debut album (aka “The Blue Album”) and 1996’s follow-up Pinkerton in their entirety along with greatest hits sets to the delight of fans.
