Wayne Static maps solo tour

Wayne Static, best known as the frontman for metal favorites Static-X, has mapped a winter club tour in support of his debut solo album, Pighammer. He’ll make his way to New England next month for a pair of shows, including one in Massachusetts. Static will perform at Tammany Hall in Worcester on Friday, February 10. Tickets for the show are now on sale through TicketFly for $20.

Released in October, Pighammer features lead single “Assassins of Youth”. The song was inspired by Static’s last days of drugs and partying. The first verse is about doing drugs, the chorus is going dry and the 2nd chorus is about getting off and no longer being slave to the drugs.

“I wrote this song while living in a hotel room, listening to Pink Floyd, drinking Crown and doing whippits,” explained Static in a press release. “I started the song in that condition but never finished it until years later after dumping off the drugs. Now the song has a whole new meaning from when I started it.”

Prior to his show in Worcester, Static will perform at Wally’s Pub at Hampton, New Hampshire on Thursday, February 9. Tickets for the show are now on sale through TicketWeb for $20.
