Wale and the Tokyo Police Club will team up for a special show in Boston later this month as part of the Red Bull Sound Clash. The two acts will play the House of Blues on Monday, September 20. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $20.

The Red Bull Sound Clash is billed as “an unparalleled live musical conversation performance between two bands with diverse sounds, styles and creativity”. The Boston show will pit the indie rock stylings of Tokyo Police Club against Wale’s unique new brand of rap and hip hop. At the show, both artists will face off on two stages positioned at opposite ends of the club with the audience in the middle. In a series of four rounds, the artists will perform various tasks — some rehearsed, some improvised — to showcase the range of their musical abilities. The audience participates in the back-and-forth exploration between the bands by judging each round.

Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club recently released their sophomore album, Champ, while Washington D.C.-based rapper Wale has been touring in support of his critically acclaimed debut album, Attention Deficit.
