Volbeat to lead ‘Rock Allegiance’ tour

Volbeat has been tapped to headline Monster Energy’s “Rock Allegiance” tour this fall. The Danish rockers will lead the multi-cultural bill alongside HIM (Finland), All That Remains (U.S.) and Airbourne (Australia). The tour will stop in Massachusetts for a night at the Tsongas Center in Lowell on Friday, September 27. Tickets for the show are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $32.50 and $42.50.

“The fans have made our North American visits thus far this year great fun and truly memorable,” said Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen in a press release. “We are looking forward to headlining Monster Energy’s Rock Allegiance festival tour this summer, and sharing the stage with HIM, All That Remains and Airbourne.”

Volbeat will be touring in support of their new album, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies. released last month, the band’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200. The album was co-produced by Jacob Hansen and Rob Caggiano, who has since joined the band as their lead guitarist after leaving Anthrax. It features singles “Cape of Our Hero” and “The Hangman’s Body Count”. Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies also includes special guests appearances from King Diamond on “Room 24” and Sarah Blackwood of Walk Off The Earth on “The Lonesome Rider”, as well as a cover of Young The Giant’s “My Body”.

HIM will be promoting their recently released eigtht studio album, Tears on Tape. All That Remains continues to tour in support of 2012’s A War You Cannot Win, while Airbourne just released their thrid album Black Dog Barking earlier this month.
