Travis end hiatus with new album, tour

Travis have announced plans to end their hiatus and return to the spotlight with their first new album in five years. The Scottish rockers will undergo a stateside tour this fall and stop in Boston for a gig at the House of Blues on Sunday, September 22. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Rathborne, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $25.

Where You Stand, Travis’ seventh studio effort and first since 2008’s Ode to J. Smith, will be released on August 19. Produced by Michael Ilbert (The Hives, The Cardigans), the album was was written and recorded by the band in London, Norway, New York and at the Hansa Studios in Berlin. Fans can get a taste of the new material with lead single “Where You Stand”, which is streaming below.

During the band’s brief hiatus, frontman released a solo album called Wreckorder in 2010.
