Toots and the Maytals to go unplugged in Fall River

, Staff

Toots and the Maytals will hit Massachusetts next month on a special acoustic tour. The veteran reggae group will perform at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River on Thursday, November 1. Tickets for the show, which will also feature special guest Anders Osborne, are available through the venue’s box office and website for $51.

The acoustic tour is in support of the band’s new album, Unplugged on Strawberry Hill. The album captures twelve iconic tracks recorded during a live acoustic performance in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. The album is packaged with a DVD release that features footage of the Strawberry Hill performance, a 1981 concert for German TV institution Rockpalas and a documentary called “Reggae Got Soul”. Released last month, it can be purchased through the group’s Pledge Music page.

On the upcoming tour, $1 from every ticket will benefit The Toots Foundation. The non-profit organization works with and provides financial support to a variety of charities in Jamaica.

Osborne is touring in support of his brand new release, Black Eye Galaxy.
