Country superstar Toby Keith will hit Boston this summer to join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra at the Hatch Shell for their annual 4th of July celebration.

The concert, now its 37th year, will be televised locally by WBZ TV and nationally by CBS with host Craig Ferguson of The Late Late Show. Last year, legendary singer Neil Diamond performed with the Boston Pops on July 4, while country superstars Rascal Flatts served as the special guests in 2008.

Keith released his thirteenth studio album, American Ride, last fall. He’ll spend the summer touring in support of the album with help from Trace Adkinis. The two will perform at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, September 25. Tickets, which range in price from $20 to $65, go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

As previously reported, Keith will also open his famed restaurant and entertainment venue, Toby Keith’s I love This Bar and Grill, at Patriot Place in Foxboro later this summer. Named after the country superstar’s hit single “I Love This Bar,” the 19,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 400 patron and feature 50 HDTV monitors for viewing sporting events, a mechanical bull (named “Toby” of course), free live music and home-cooked Southern style fare. The restaurant will also feature two VIP rooms, an exclusive private dining room available for rental, an outdoor patio and a gift shop.
