Tiësto to hit UMass Amherst on College Invasion tour

, Staff

Dutch DJ Tiësto has unveiled plans for his “College Invasion” tour, spanning two months and twenty college-centered cities across the States. Locally, his invasion will target the Mullins Center at UMass Amherst on Monday, September 19. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $38. American DJ Porter Robinson will also perform.

Tiësto declared last year that he was no longer working with Black Hole Recordings, opting instead to use his own label Musical Freedom. He has kept the label busy, releasing a remix of his 2009 hit Kaleidoscope, a mix compilation Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas, a new studio album Kiss from the Past (under the alias Allure), and the new single “Work Hard, Play Hard” in August.

The “College Invasion” tour will close on October 8 with a historic show at Los Angeles’ Home Depot Stadium. The solo performance is expected to be the largest single-headline DJ show in United States history, drawing an anticipated crowd of 26,000 fans.

Tiësto is also launching a pair of contests along with his college tour. One asks fans to remix his single “Work Hard, Play Hard,” with the winner’s creation to be released through Musical Freedom. The other allows fans to compete on Tiësto’s Facebook page to win a personal appearance at a house party.
