The Wood Brothers will soon embark on a nationwide tour in support of their new album, The Muse. Scheduled to start in California at the end of January, the Americana favorites will arrive in Massachusetts for a performance at the Somerville Theatre on Friday, February 28. Tickets for the show are available through Ticketmaster for $25.

The Muse, The Wood Brothers fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Smoke Ring Halo, was released in October. It was recorded at Southern Ground Studios in Nashville with producer and country music legend Buddy Miller. The title track and lead single is streaming below.

“It’s taken years for us to really feel like we can collaborate,” explained lead vocalist and guitarist Oliver Wood in a press release, “and I think this is the pinnacle of it so far.”

Other New England dates on the upcoming tour include Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont on March 1 and Port City Music Hall in Portland, Maine on March 2. The Wood Brothers will also perform a free show at Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, February 22.
