The Ting Tings have announced concert dates in support of their new album, Sounds from Nowheresville. The duo comprised of Katie White and Jules de Martino will hit Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Monday, April 9. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25. Electropop act MNDR will open the show.

Sounds from Nowheresville, The Ting Tings’ sophomore album, was released last month. It follows their 2008 debut album, We Started Nothing, which featured smash hits “That’s Not My Name” and “Shut Up and Let Me Go”. Featuring singles “Hang It Up” (video is streaming below) and “Silence”, Nowheresville was inspired by the English duo’s travels across Europe, spanning Paris, Berlin, and Mercia, Spain.

“We spent so long on the road – recording music and touring – that the whole musical element of the album came from everywhere and nowhere,” de Martino said in a December interview with Spin.

In an interview The Daily Star last fall, White revealed that they abandoned plans for an entire album before writing Sounds from Nowheresville. “We went to Berlin and really fell in love with techno and dance, which inspired the songs we made there, but we just fell out of love it,” she said. “We went to Spain and stumbled on this new sound, so we thought: ‘F***it, let’s make the album this way instead’.”

The artwork for Sounds from Nowheresville is the result of a contest he and White launched called “Show Us Yours”, which prompted artists to submit photos, videos, and graphic designs to be featured on the record. The winner, which depicts the duo as skeletons, was designed by Milan Abad.
