German rockers The Scorpions will return to the United States this summer for what is being billed as the band’s farewell tour. The band’s lone New England show will take place at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire on Wednesday, June 23. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $24.25 to $64, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website. Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil will open the show.

The Hanover-Germany based 80’s rockers, best known for the rock anthem “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, will be touring in support of a brand new album, Sting in the Tail. Released earlier this year, the new album is the band’s 17th studio effort. Earlier this year, prior to the album’s release, the Scorpions announced that Sting in the Tail would be their last album and their tour in support of the album would also be their last.

“While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process,” they said in a statement on the band’s website. “But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.”

Last month, the Scorpions were inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk.
