The Monkees cancel remaining summer tour dates

The Monkees will no longer return to New England on their 45th Anniversary tour celebration as originally scheduled. The band – featuring original members Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork – has cancelled their remaining summer tour dates, including stops at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on August 27 and the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on August 28. Refunds for both shows are available at the point of purchase.

Drummer/Vocalist Dolenz released the following statement through his Facebook page:

Dear Fans and Friends,

The Monkee Tour has, indeed, been cancelled but for reasons that I cannot discuss at this time. I can say that the reasons pertain to business and are internal matters. Needless to say, I am disappointed but the situation was unavoidable and I want to apologize to all the fans out there who will not be able to experience what was a wonderful show indeed.

In June, The Monkees played the Lowell Memorial Auditorium as part of their 45th Anniversary tour.
