The Joy Formidable have revealed plans for a stateside tour this spring in support of their brand new album, Wolf’s Law. The Welsh rockers will perform at Boston’s House of Blues on Friday, April 19. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Blood Red Shows, will go sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $18.

Released earlier this week, Wolf’s Law is the The Joy Formidable’s second studio album and highly anticipated follow-up to their 2011 debut The Big Roar. Singer/guitarist Ritzy Bryan and bassist Rhydian Dafydd began working on the album at the start of 2012 in Northern Maine.

“It was just the two of us in this isolated spot where we hardly saw anybody else all the time we were there,” explained Ritzy in a press release. “It snowed every day and the surroundings and the solitude gave us a different level of intensity.”

“We had no phone signal, no wi-fi – it was fucking bliss! It is Stephen King country up there and we worried that we’d turn into The Shining and cave each other’s heads in. But it was very still, very beautiful – and in a strange way it reminded us of our home area of North Wales.”
