The Hold Steady will return the road this summer for tour that swings through New England in July. The Brooklyn-based rockers will hit Boston for a show at Royale on Tuesday, July 17. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $20.

Following the show in Boston, The Hold Steady will make their way to Northampton for a performance at the Iron Horse Music Hall on Wednesday, July 18. The band is also scheduled to perform at the Heirloom Arts Theatre in Danbury, Connecticut on Thursday, July 19.

With no new album to promote, fans can expect a set filled packed with fan favorites. The Hold Steady are reportedly working on their fifth album and follow-up to 2010’s Stay Positive, though no details regarding the album have been released. The band was last in the area as part of last year’s Life is good Festival in Canton.

Earlier this year, frontman Craig Finn released his debut solo album, Clear Heart Full Eyes. The album was the product of a challenge Finn gave himself last year to write a new song every day in his Brooklyn apartment. Featuring lead single “Honolulu Blues”, Clear Heart Full Eyes was recorded in Austin with producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead).
