The Dirty Projectors will hit the road this summer in support of their forthcoming album, Swing Lo Magellanon. The Brooklyn-based indie rockers will hit Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club on Sunday, August 19. Tickets for the show, which was orginally scheduled for July 8, are available through Ticketmaster for $22.50. Purity Ring will open the show.

Swing Lo Magellanon, the band’s sisth studio effort, will hit stores on July 10. The album was written and created over a 12-month span of writing and recording in a house in Delaware County, New York. Frontman David Longstreth Longstreth, who produced and mixed, wrote seventy new songs and beats. The band – Amber Coffman (vocals & guitar), Nat Baldwin (bass), Brian McOmber (drums) & Haley Dekle (vocals) (vocalist Angel Deradoorian is on hiatus) – joined him periodically, rehearsing the new music more or less constantly in the house’s A-frame attic. The twelve songs of Swing Lo Magellan were then selected from a pool of 40 finished demos.
