The Del Fuegos announce reunion benefit concert

, Staff

After disbanding in the late 1980s, The Del Fuegos have announced plans to reunite this summer for a special one-off benefit concert. The local legends will play the Paradise Rock Club on Thursday, June 23. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20 with proceeds benefiting Right Turn Addiction Services.

The garage/pop-rock band, which released four studio albums, achieved international success in the mid-1980s and are still remembered for their high energy live shows as much as for their radio hits, including “Don’t Run Wild”, “Backseat Nothing” and “I Still Want You”. The band toured widely throughout the 80’s and when not headlining on their own, shared bills with the likes of INXS, ZZ Top, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Led by lead singer Dan Zanes, The Del Fuegos are comprised of guitarist Warren Zanes, bassist Tom Lloyd and drummer Woody Giessmann. Zanes has since gone on to become a widely acclaimed children’s performer.

Based in Arlington and founded by Giessmann, Right Turn is a non-profit organization that provides innovative and creative treatment to those struggling with alcoholism, addiction, and psychiatric issues. For more information, visit
